TO THE
ENTRANCE
REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL
PROVISIONS
1. Admission to the Belarusian
State Technological University (hereinafter referred to as the BSTU) is
carried out in accordance with the Rules of Admission to Institutions of Higher
Education, approved by the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus
No.70 (February 8, 2008).
2. Persons
having general secondary education, or vocational technical education with
general secondary education, or specialized secondary education, with the
appropriate education certificate, may enter the BSTU for any forms of higher
education studies.
3. Citizens of
the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens and stateless persons who are
permanent residents of the Republic of Belarus, persons of the Belarusian
ethnic origin who are citizens of foreign states or stateless persons but
permanent residents of foreign states, citizens of the Russian Federation, the
Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kirghiz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan,
may participate in a competition for education, financed from the state budget,
in state institutions of higher education (hereinafter referred to as
state-financed education), if they didn't study at this education level on terms
of state-financed education; otherwise, they may participate in a competition
for education, financed by natural persons or legal entities, in state or
private institutions of higher education (hereinafter referred to as paid
education).
The persons,
listed in the first part of this Clause, having general secondary education and
working in the speciality similar to that preferred by them for studying, or
having vocational technical education with general secondary education or
specialized secondary education, applying for studying in the same or similar
speciality, or registered as disabled children or handicapped persons of the
first or second degree of disability and having general secondary education,
vocational technical education with general secondary education or specialized
secondary education (without medical contra-indications for studying in the
preferred speciality), may participate in a competition for state-financed
correspondence studies. Other persons may participate in a competition for paid
correspondence studies.
4. Foreign citizens and stateless persons who are
permanent residents of foreign states, are admitted for education in accordance
with international treaties of the
5. A second higher education is available for
persons having a higher education diploma, or for students of Belarusian
institutions of higher education, studying in the third academic year or
higher, and having marks equal to 7 or
higher (ten-point scale) for all the courses studied in institutions of higher
education during the term of studying.
DOCUMENTS
SUBMITTED BY APPLICANTS TO THE ADMISSION
BOARD
6. The following documents are
submitted by applicants to the BSTU admission board:
- application, addressed to the
rector, in due form;
- education certificate,
including appropriate schedules (originals);
- certificates of centralized
testing (originals), issued in the
- medical certificate in due form
established by the Ministry of Health;
- documents certifying the
applicant’s rights to benefits during admission;
- eight (8) photos 3x4 cm;
7. Also, if necessary, the
following documents are submitted to the BSTU admission board:
- extract from the work record book (for
correspondence studies applicants);
- report of medical consulting or
rehabilitation expert commission, certifying that there are no
contra-indications for studying in the preferred speciality (for persons who
graduated from institutions of special education, registered as disabled
children, eighteen years old or younger, or handicapped persons of the first,
second or third degree of disability);
- report of
the state center of correcting and advancing education and rehabilitation,
recommending studying in the institution of special education (for persons with impairments of vision, hearing
or locomotor system);

certificate of the rural executive committee, confirming the applicant’s
residence (during at least two years) in the rural settlement or in the
settlement, located in the territory of radioactive pollution, at the time of
graduation from the institution of education (for persons who graduated from
the institutions of education , located in such settlements);
- documents certifying the Belarusian ethnic
origin (for the Belarusians who are citizens of foreign states or stateless
persons);
- contract on education for specific employment
(target education), concluded between the applicant and the employer (for
applicants participating in competition for vacancies dedicated for education
for specific employment);
- copy of the diploma of higher education
including appropriate schedules, and, for students of other institutions of
higher education, the warrant certifying the consent of the administration of
the institution where the applicant studies, the academic record from the
institution where the applicant studies, and the warrant certifying that the
first higher education was paid (for persons applying for a second higher
education). The documents from another institution of higher education must be
signed by the head of this institution and certified by an appropriate seal.
8. The passport (or any other
document used in place of it) must be submitted by the applicant in person.
TERMS OF
SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS AND ADMISSION TO THE BSTU
9. For full-time studies:
submission
of application documents - from July 12 till July 23;
admission to
the vacancies provided by the plan of admission for state-financed education -
till July 30;
submission
of application documents of applicants for paid education (applicants who have
passed entrance tests but haven’t obtained enough scores to be admitted for
state-financed education) - till August 2;
admission of
students for paid education – till August 4;
10. For correspondence studies:
submission
of application documents - from July 12 till July 23;
submission
of application documents of applicants who have passed entrance tests but
haven’t obtained enough scores to be admitted for state-financed full-time
education in the BSTU, for participation in a competition for admission for
state-financed correspondence education - till July 31;
admission to
the vacancies provided by the plan of admission for state-financed education -
till August 1;
submission
of application documents of applicants who have passed entrance tests but
haven’t obtained enough scores to be admitted for state-financed education in
the institution of higher education, for participation in a competition for
admission for paid education - till August 2;
admission of
students for paid education – till August 4.
ENTRANCE
TESTS
11. Applicants are to get scores
in three tests at the state centralized entrance testing (CET): one test in the
Belarusian or Russian language (at the applicant’s option) and two profile tests
depending on the preferred speciality:

chemistry;
–
for specialities: "Forestry Engineering",
"Machines and Mechanisms for Forestry Complex", "Technology of
Wood Working Production", "Vocational Training", "Design
and Production of Goods from Composite Materials", "Machines and
Apparatus for Chemical Production and Building Materials Enterprises",
"Automation of Technological Processes and Production",

for specialities: "Economics and Plant
Management", "Accounting, Analysis and Audit",
"Marketing", "Management", "Publishing" - foreign
language, mathematics.
12. Applicants are registered for participation in
CET from May 2 till June 1. For registration, the applicant must submit an
application, a registration fee document and an identifying document in one of
the institutions of higher education, determined as CET stations.
CET is
carried out since June. CET is state-financed. CET includes tests in general
subjects: physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, Belarusian, Russian,
foreign language (English, German, French, Spanish), social science (person,
society and state), contemporary world history, history of

may pass CET in three subjects only: Belarusian or Russian language (at the
applicant’s option) and two profile tests depending on the preferred
speciality.
PROCEDURE
OF APPLICANTS ADMISSION
13.
Admission of applicants to the BSTU for state-financed and paid full-time and
correspondence education is carried out in a competition at each speciality on
the basis of the total sum of test scores given in certificates of the state
centralized testing and the mean mark of the certificate of secondary education
(expressed in a ten-point scale within the accuracy of the nearest tenth and
converted to a hundred-point scale by multiplying by ten).
14.
For the vacancies provided by the plan of admission
for education for specific employment (target education), a separate
competition is carried out. The applicants who haven’t obtained enough scores
to be admitted in this separate competition, may participate in a competition
in accordance with the general procedure.
15.
For the vacancies provided by the plan of admission
for education (not including the vacancies for education for specific
employment), a separate competition for admission is carried out, in accordance
with the quota, determined in proportion to the number of applications
submitted, between the following two categories of applicants:
- graduates of general educational
institutions, institutions of vocational technical education with general
secondary education, or institutions of specialized secondary education,
located in rural settlements. The graduate’s residence in a rural settlement at
the time of graduation during at least two years is required;
- graduates of general educational
institutions, institutions of vocational technical education with general
secondary education, or institutions of specialized secondary education,
located in urban settlements.
If the pass
score for the applicants who graduated from rural educational institutions,
mentioned in the second paragraph of the first part of this Clause, is equal or
higher than the pass score for the applicants who graduated from urban
educational institutions, mentioned in the third paragraph of the first part of
this Clause, then a common competition for admission is carried out.
PERSONS
HAVING RIGHTS TO BENEFITS
DURING ADMISSION
16.
Persons are admitted to the BSTU without entrance
tests at the appropriate specialities, for the vacancies provided for
state-financed education, in accordance with the Rules of Admission to
Institutions of Higher Education (Clause 21).
17.
Persons are admitted to the BSTU on the
out-of-competition terms (except for the specialities with 5 or more applicants
for one vacancy in the previous year) in accordance with the Rules of Admission
to Institutions of Higher Education (Clause 23). For such admission, the marks
in the applicant’s education certificate for the subjects of the entrance tests
must be equal to 6 (six) or higher.
18.
Out-of-competition admission is not carried out for
the specialities with 5 or more applicants for one vacancy in 2008:
"Economics
and Plant Management", "Accounting, Analysis and Audit",
"Marketing" - for full-time education;
"Technology
of Wood Working Production" - for correspondence education.
19.
Other issues of admission to institutions of higher
education, not determined in the Rules, are resolved by educational
institutions in accordance with the legislation.
