The Belarusian State Technological University is one of the leading educational and scientific centers of the Republic of Belarus. It was founded in 1930. Now the University is a large, dynamically-developing multi-profile educational and scientific center in the Republic of Belarus with a wide scope of activities, training highly competitive specialists. The total number of people who work and are taught at the University comprises 14,000. There are more than 13,000 students, 663 teachers, 189 post-graduates and doctorates, masters and probationers. 43 Academicians and Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus work at the University. There are 60 Doctors of Science, Professors and 366 PhDs, Associate Professors.
On November 22, 2007 the University was granted the status of a basic educational institution of the CIS states in the field of forestry and forest industry. Since 2008 the BSTU has been a full member of International Centre for Forestry and Forest Industry. A UNESCO-Associated Centre for Chemical Sciences was founded under the BSTU.
The University comprises 51 departments, 10 faculties, Dean’s office for foreign students, international relations office, pre-university courses, testing centre for ecological control, printing and publishing centre, etc.
