International cooperation

""International cooperation is of paramount importance for teaching and research at the University. The University develops such forms of cooperation as: academic exchange of post-graduate students and students, of lecturers and scholars; joint scientific research; editing monographs, textbooks, tutorials and articles; supervision of post-graduates work; delivering lectures; exchange of experience in organization, carrying out and improvement of teaching process as well as in training masters, post-graduates and doctorates; joint development of educational standards; qualification up-grade; internship. In cooperation with foreign partners a number of scientific and technical projects are annually implemented for various enterprises and organizations of different industries.

Partners of the BSTU are chemical and technological, polytechnic, agrarian and forestry higher educational institutions of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, China, Libya, Lebanon, Greece, Mongolia, Tadjikistan, Turkmenistan. More than 40 departments of the University participate in international cooperation, interdepartment and individual relations being its new form.

The number of contacts with famous foreign scholars, scientific centres and organizations has increased recently and the number of joint research in accordance with agreements on creative cooperation grows from year to year. At present under these agreements the University carries out joint research with Russian Chemical-Technological University (Moscow), Ural Forestry Engineering University, Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology, Yaroslavl State Technical University, Moscow State University of Forest, Moscow University of Printing Arts, Dnepropetrovsk University of Chemistry and Technology, Ukrainian Academy of Printing (Lvov), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Belostok Technical University (Poland), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), Max Planck Biophysical Chemistry Institute (Germany), Beijing Forest University (China), Al-Mustansiriya University (Iraq), Hoh-Hoto Professional Institute (China), Swedish Forest Agency, Tyumen State Oil and Gas University, Mari State Technical University and others.

A UNESCO-associated Centre for Chemical Sciences and Education was founded under BSTU. The University cooperates with such international organizations as European Institute of Forest, UNO Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Forest Institute of Central and South European countries, Northern Dimensions Institute (NDI), International Centre for Forestry and Forest Industry, International Association of Research Organizations for the Information Media and Graphic Arts Industries (IARIGAI), Real Estate Laboratory (RE. Lab), European Real Estate Society (ERES), Baltic University Program (BUP).


""The results of the University activities are known all over the world. Over 100 University scholars and post-graduate students take part in international conferences annually. A number of textbooks and monographs, published in BSTU and translated into English, Romanian, Hungarian, Chinese and other languages, are highly appreciated by foreign specialists. Annually foreign publishing companies edit over 50 scientific papers, their authors being University scholars.

Every year the University organizes and issues the materials of more than 15 international conferences and workshops, foreign scholars participating in them.

BSTU is a regular participant of international exhibitions in the field of developing new materials, energy and resource-saving technologies, ecology and nature management, instrument-making, machine-building and others.
